Rogation Ramble on Sunday 14th.  May
For the old custom of beating the bounds the inhabitants of the village would turn out to walk the boundaries of the parish. Beating the Slimbridge boundaries today would require quite a bit of trespass, a wade in the River Cam and a stint on the central reservation of the M5.
So instead, celebrate Rogation Sunday with us on a ramble on the parish footpaths. And to make sure that no one faints from hunger en route, we’ll be starting off with a spot of breakfast at the Village Hall at 11.00 am. At 11.30 am we will head off to walk the parish paths (long or short routes available). All are welcome to join us, together with well-behaved dogs on leads. For more information or to book a breakfast email storeysell@gmail.com or Tel 07481018988.

Kind regards

Cllr Mike Stayte will be attending to put forward the objection from Slimbridge Parish Council. More information on the meeting can be seen at Modern Gov template | Stroud District Council
There is an opportunity for others to speak, but this is very limited to 4 minute time slot, please read the information on the website as to how this works.

The damage from the leak in the pavilion has now been repaired and the areas repainted; and the stolen speed sign has also been re-ordered. Both were done through insurance claims.
The footpath working group have also started to get out and about, so please do let us know about any issues, and if the group can’t deal with it, it will be reported to Public Rights of Way.

Neighbourhood Plan and Parish News

Good morning,

Neighbourhood Development Plan
We are now coming up to half way through the next consultation phase for the Neighbourhood Plan. Hard copies are in all public places across the parish, and the questionnaire can be found at: shorturl.at/szPQS . We can also provide a hard copy if needed, but online helps better with the summary! We would love more responses please, but also if you are broadly happy with the Plan and don’t feel the need to complete the questionnaire, we would still love to hear from you to say you are happy with the proposed plan – it all helps with the process and makes sure that the Neighbourhood Plan reflects what the community thinks and wants for its future.
Members of the steering group will be on hand and visiting various clubs and events over the coming weeks and hopefully encouraging you all to give some feedback.

Meet with your District Councillor, MP and local police
District Cllr Lyndsey Green, Siobhan Baillie MP and hopefully a representative from the Stroud side of Gloucestershire Constabulary will be in Berkeley this Friday outside of the old NatWest bank for your views and issues in the Berkeley vale ward. We should be there from around 2.30pm.

Police report:
We have been informed of a suspicious vehicle seen on 06.02.23 driving slowly and sometimes calling into properties without permission in the Halmore & Slimbridge locations.
Two males driving a blue Skoda on an Irish registered plate were asking for scrap metal and were reported to have been aggressive and would not take ‘No’ for an answer.
If you receive such a visit – please contact PCSO Mike Trebble.  Michael.Trebble@gloucestershire.police.uk Police Community Support Officer 9079. Severnside Local Policing Team. Personal – (01452) 753669 | Force Control Room – 101
